Again? Really? Seems like spring has woken up my muse… Or maybe I’ve just resolved to DO THIS! Because! Hopefully…
Today’s prompt is “family portrait”. Don’t expect anything amazing…
The one who hides
The one who wants out
The one who made peace
The one who fought
The one who didn’t listen
And me
The one who should’ve known better
Very unique take on a family portrait….where everyone plays a different role and you come clean about yours!
Thank you for your kind words! It helps to have an actual portrait in front of (or at least in your head)
Good point….having a visual like that would help with the writing, I imagine!
Ooh interesting take on the prompt. Leaves the reader pondering over the descriptions and I love that it’s vague enough so there’s room for the reader to picture these individual people.
Thank you – though I hope nobody has that kind of dysfunctional family… ^^;
There’s a line by Leo Tolstoy that’s always stuck with me: “All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.”
I think unhappy families are a painful lesson yet blessing in disguise; they strengthen your heart and your spirit and you come out of that family stronger than you’d ever thought possible.
Ah, but I’ve rambled enough! Haha, your poem is a strong start to the Poetry Month! 🙂
