NaPoWriMo Day 20

Busy busy beeeeee. Today’s prompt: sports.

My life has one goal

To be my brother’s keeper

So I’ll shoot you down

(see what I did there?)

NaPoWriMo Day 18

Post-Easter blues. Or something. Today’s prompt: neologisms.

When youcrave that one sweet taste

Yet you’re stuck with tea

NaPoWriMo Day 17

Happy National Haiku Day! Although today’s prompt is “nocturne” – as if this blog wasn’t already gloomy enough…

Faint moonlight above

Bathing your dark naked skin

How I’ve missed such bliss

NaPoWriMo Day 16

Happy Easter! (if you’re celebrating) No Easter prompt, but instead: letter-writing.

This letter’s too late
To say what I should have said
But know I love you

This letter’s too late
To tell you I understand
And I love you, too

Letters never sent
Words whispered alone at night
So they cross over

NaPoWriMo Day 15

I’m always in the middle of something, which is perfect, because it’s also today’s prompt

“Love” corresponds to

No, I’m not Miss Smith, goodbye

Switching off the phone

NaPoWriMo Day 14

Remember folks: you don’t find friends with salad, erh, poetry 😉

Today’s prompt: a clerihew.

Buffy Summers

Yielded weapons of force

Closed the hellmouth

Only her love went south

NaPoWriMo Day 13

I should write an emoji poem some day… Today’s prompt: ghazal

In this garden, I thread lightly where ashes bloom.
If I don’t pay attention, my feet will burn where ashes bloom.

I’ve seen the world fall apart when I looked into your eyes.
The skies were crumbling into the darken sea where ashes bloom.

A million screams like roaring thunder burst my ears.
I sink to my knees, crying, where ashes bloom.

(I call this the bleak period)

NaPoWriMo Day 12

The super-busy pre-Easter time. So I’m limiting myself to haiku, as far as possible. Today’s prompt: alliteration.

Darken days dragging

Nocturnal noise not noted

Leaps leading astray

NaPoWriMo Day 10

Double digits already? By the way, many problems have a tendency to solve themselves. Which lend itself to today’s prompt: the Bop.

I’m not a man of fear
Danger is a challenge
To be conquered
But every once in a while
I feel myself plunge
Into deepest horror

Where only darkness waits

I’ve never been truly free
Fear was waiting for me
Even surrounded by merriness
All I saw was horror
I never fought it
That strength I never had
In the face of utter despair
I break down and cry

Where only darkness waits

You didn’t change all that
Your fire isn’t that bright
But in your warm embrace
In your warm eyes
I find that glimmer of hope
That lets me hold on

Where only darkness waits

(yeah, not a problem that solves itself – I like to mislead you)
