NaPoWriMo Day 5

Tuesday already. Seems like I’ll really stick with this. (What is it they’re always saying? 10 minutes of writing a day are a necessity?)

Today’s prompt: a poem involving en elaborate plant name. “Long Island Mammoth Dill” immediately got stuck in my head.

You planted
In the kitchen
Seeds from Long Island
“They’re called mammoth,” you said
“I thought you don’t like dill?”
You grinned and I was immediately mesmerized
It’s always the same with you and me
What you do confuses me and I often disagree
But it doesn’t matter, because, after all, I love you

(see what I did there?)

Also: I  just realized this is my third year participating in NaPoWriMo
