NaPoWriMo Day 1: “Morning Paper”

Oh yes, it’s April! It’s National Poetry Writing Month – NaPoWriMo – again! As you might remember, last year I wrote a haiku every day. This year, I’ll try various formats – okay, I’ll probably change between haiku and free form. Anyway, I’ll definitely post one poem per day.

Today’s prompt: a poem of negation. Enjoy!

Morning Paper

You can’t swipe left

You can’t swipe right

Have to turn the page

You can’t zoom

You can’t copy

Have to cut it out

You can’t search

You can’t save

Can only skim the page

Paper isn’t hassle-free

But neither is technology

PS: Not an endorsement of using scissors on newspapers and magazines
